In today’s world, where people are increasingly health-conscious, many consumers choose indoor ice bath tubs or saunas to improve their well-being. But, the stability, durability, and safe operation of an ice bath tub depend not only on its materials and design, but also on the factory’s quality control measures before the product leaves the factory!
As a high-end sauna and ice bath manufacturer, Alphasauna implements a rigorous seven-step quality inspection process for its assembled ice bath tubs to ensure that every tub delivered to the customer is safe and reliable.
This article provides an in-depth analysis of the Alphasauna inspection process for ice bath products, helping you understand the professional requirements behind them.
Why Must Indoor Ice Bath Tubs Undergo a Complete Testing Process Before Leaving the Factory?
When an ice bath tub is in use, it requires a combination of water, electricity, and cooling/heating functions. If any component or process malfunctions during operation, it will not only affect the user experience but also the normal operation of the ice bath tub. Common risks include:
A. Leaks in the ice bath tub, leading to corrosion of accessories and damage to floors.
B. Abnormal cooling/heating, resulting in a poor user experience and inability to reach the desired temperature.
C. Rough wood, affecting the consumer experience.
D. Missing labeling, leading to installation difficulties and after-sales issues.
Thus, Alphasauna requires every ice bath tub to undergo the following complete testing process: visual inspection, water system inspection, cooling/heating testing, temperature labeling system calibration, cleaning and drainage, labeling, and packaging. This ensures that the indoor ice bath tub maintains stability over long-term use.

Indoor Ice Bath Tub Appearance and Inner Tank Inspection
Once our indoor ice bath tub is installed, our engineers will conduct the first round of inspection on its appearance and inner tank. First, a general inspection of the appearance is performed to ensure there are no scratches or rough edges from the manufacturing process (e.g., burrs, rough spots on the wood, smooth joints, and sharp edges). Secondly, the inner tank inevitably generates sawdust, fine dust, metal shavings, packaging fragments, and dirt during the manufacturing process.
Therefore, it is essential to inspect the inner tank of the Alphasauna after assembly. First, check the bottom of the ice bath, the drain outlet, and the surrounding area for metal shavings, sawdust, and packaging fragments. Second, check the joints between the ice bath walls and the inner tank for small dust particles and dirt.
If any of these are found, first clean off the metal shavings and packaging fragments, then wipe the indoor ice bath clean, ensuring it is visually free of stains, free of particles to the touch, and free of any unusual odors.

Water Filling Test: Checking for Leaks in Various Water Systems
After inspecting the exterior and interior of the indoor ice bath tub, the next step is the water filling test. We will fill the inner tank of the ice bath tub with water and then check all the water systems. First, we will check the inlet and outlet. If the torque is insufficient during assembly, water will drip from the inlet and outlet of the indoor ice bath tub. Secondly, we will check the side drain outlet. During assembly, it’s easy to forget to close the drain valve, so this is a very important connection point. In addition, the area around the ice bath tub is also critical. This not only tests the company’s welding skills but also facilitates finding and repairing problems.
For the refrigeration unit, the water pump connection, filter connection, ozone main inlet, and water pipe clamps and seals are also very important. Under normal circumstances, Alphasauna will ensure that the torque of each connection is sufficient, the seals are correctly positioned and not deformed, the pipes are correctly oriented without excessive bending, and there is no looseness or cracks.

Refrigeration Unit Function Testing
After the water circuit test is complete, the refrigeration unit in the indoor ice bath tub can be started. We will test its most basic functions, such as cooling, heating, and ozone. Cooling is crucial for a good ice bath experience; we will test whether the refrigeration unit can reach a cooling temperature of 3°C and record the temperature drop curve.
Also, while the machine is running, we will check the components in the refrigeration unit, such as whether the compressor starts and runs normally, whether the condenser operates smoothly, and whether there are any abnormal vibrations or noises.

After the cooling mode test, we will test the heating function to see if the machine can stably reach 40°C and whether there are any unusual or burning smells during the heating process, to avoid any problems during installation. If any issues occur during cooling or heating, it is also important to check whether the display panel enters the self-test system to troubleshoot the problem.
Secondly, the ozone function, as an upgraded feature of the refrigeration unit, can provide users with cleaner water. While the machine is running, we will also turn on the ozone system to check whether the ozone pump is operating normally, whether the pipeline is unobstructed, and whether bubbles are generated in the water. Ozone not only reduces bacterial growth but also lowers maintenance costs.

Adjusting the Refrigeration Unit’s Temperature Scale (Fahrenheit or Celsius)
To accommodate temperature scales in different countries, we adjust the control system’s default temperature scale to the corresponding format based on customer order requirements. For example, most US customers use Fahrenheit (℉), while European customers mostly use Celsius (℃). Alphasauna strictly adheres to customer needs, ensuring users can use the system immediately upon receipt without any setup.
Indoor Ice Bath Drainage + Thorough Cleaning
After all the checks on the indoor ice bath tub are completed, the water will be drained. We will check if the drain outlet in the tub is easy to open, and then observe the drainage speed and water flow of the side drain outlet to ensure it is normal and to avoid blockage. Once the water is completely drained, the inner tank of the tub will be thoroughly wiped clean to prevent water stains from remaining around the tank, seams, and drain outlet. This also ensures that the indoor ice bath tub will not mold or oxidize due to moisture during transportation.
Of course, in addition to draining the water from the tub, a second overall cleaning of the indoor ice bath tub is required to ensure that the product delivered to the user is clean, safe, and of high quality.
Ice Bath Tube Safety Labeling and Packaging?
After all functions of the ice bath tub have been tested, our staff will affix corresponding labels according to the product specifications, including the inlet, outlet, drain, drain switch, grounding wire location, power parameters, and warning labels. These labels are made of waterproof and non-detachable materials, ensuring stable adhesion in humid environments and prolonged low temperatures, guaranteeing user safety and effectively preventing after-sales issues caused by improper operation.
Once all safety labels are affixed, the entire ice bath tub product will undergo quality inspection and be photographed for record-keeping. Then, the indoor ice bath tub will be packed and shipped. We will use pearl cotton for the outer layer of packaging, secure it with a moisture-proof film, and finally reinforce it with a wooden crate to ensure the ice bath tub is less damaged by collisions during sea/land/air transportation.
After packaging, a customer’s order number label will be affixed, and photos will be taken for follow-up. Only after this entire process is completed.
